| I'm Rockie. I'm fortunate enough to live in beautiful southern California, where there is plenty of art to see. I like to give constructive criticism and compliment artwork, I feel that it's important to let people know what I like about their work and why. My passion is art, I drew a lot as a kid, lost it for a few years, and rediscovered my love for it in high school. So far in college, I haven't found an art teacher that's been...well...good. So I'm challenging myself with my own projects and drawings. Between work and everyday life, I seem to be having less time for art, but what I'm producing lately has been really pleasing and I've been getting involved with galleries and online things. I would REALLY like to do an art trade or a collaboration if I could find anyone interested. I've never done commissions, but that's mostly because I take too long getting around to things. Soon though I'm going to start networking better and hopefully sell prints of my work. While my first love is traditional art (particularly watercolor), I do appreciate dance(though I'm terrible), music(I'm currently learning guitar), and writing(I'm trying to get better, I enjoy reading what others make) as well. I've recently started getting used to digital art, but I can't help but feel that it's too cold and impersonal, so it's not really for me. I am NOT a fan of most anime/manga. Ive gotten into maybe 3 or 4 in my life, and even so they didn't have a profound impact on me. I understand that many people feel connected to them and love the style to bits, and I don't bash them, it's a personal dislike, I won't take it out on others. |
